Migration
.NET Framework to .NET 8 Migration
Plan a .NET Framework to .NET 8 upgrade: API surface, IIS hosting, and a checklist you can run before hiring a contractor.

from$120 / week
Final trial fee is based on the candidate profile and seniority you select.
Framework 4.x apps do not get new runtime work. .NET 8 is the LTS landing zone we use for APIs, workers, and most MVC ports. This page is the pre-engagement checklist.
Checklist
- List every csproj, Framework version, and Windows-only API (Registry, WCF, System.Web, AppDomains).
- Decide per project: in-place upgrade, strangler sidecar, or leave-as-is behind a facade.
- Port test projects first so the new TFM has a gate before UI or IIS work.
- Replace System.Web and WCF with ASP.NET Core and a supported RPC or HTTP contract. Do not wrap the old stack in a compatibility shim as the end state.
- Move hosting from old IIS-only packages to ASP.NET Core module or a Windows Service / container you can patch.
- Start a 1-week paid trial on one vertical (one API + one database) before you buy a multi-month program.
The checklist stays on this page. This button opens the contact form.
FAQ
Do you upgrade to .NET 8 or .NET 9? +
Default is .NET 8 LTS unless you already standardized on 9 and accept the support window.
What about WinForms or WPF? +
Those can target modern .NET; they are not 'web MAUI'. We scope desktop separately from ASP.NET ports.
Will you rewrite the domain? +
Not by default. The first pass is TFM, packages, and hosting. Domain rewrite is a later SOW if you ask for it.
